Apex Legends Reviews Have Praised the Game

One of the key factors that differentiates Apex Legends from other battle royale games are its playable legends characters with unique abilities. After launching with a total of eight in early February, the recent start of Season 1 coincided with the debut of the Battle Pass and the first new addition to the roster, Octane. Whether you didn't care for him maybe you'd rather play defensively, than utilize his hit-and-run style or are just eager for more, you appear to be in luck. Despite the assumption that Octane would be the lone addition to the roster during Season 1, Respawn will apparently release another new playable Legend before this season ends.

Apex Legends was a surprise release on Feb. 4, with Respawn Entertainment officially unveiling the game only 15 minutes before it went live. When you loved this post and you wish to receive more details with regards to Apex Coins I implore you to visit the web-site. However, the company's gamble on reportedly paying Tyler "Ninja" Blevins and Michael "shroud" Grzesiek $1 million each for their sponsored streams and social posts appears to have paid off. Adding a new character to a balanced game is always a huge deal, so we'll see how it goes. Expect people to do a ton of work figuring out how to play as Octane in the next few days: if I had to guess I'd also say he'll get buffed or nerfed next week depending on whether he turns out to be over or under-powered. It's always possible they got it right on the first try, but that doesn't happen all that often.

In other news, Apex Legends recently released a brand-new gun called Havoc. Unlike other weapons, Havoc has multiple hop-up attachments and the ability to function as an automatic rifle or a sniper. A YouTube video from SookieSpy shows that Apex Legends' hitboxes are generally very good; in some cases, you're able to shoot between legs and through Bloodhound's feathers without registering a hit. However, the robot Legend, Pathfinder, registers hits that appear to be outside of what would be reasonably considered the hitbox. In essence, he's much easier to hit, which is seemingly a problem that Respawn may look to address in a future update.

Respawn is planning to launch the first Apex Legends battle pass in March, though it hasn't given a release date yet. We did get an apparent sneak peek at what it will consist of, though, given an accidental update to the Origin site. That showed a new hero named Octane, and suggested the battle pass will be priced at 950 Apex Coins (roughly $10). Respawn acknowledged that the leak was legitimate, but warned against putting too much stock in information gleaned from data mining.

Epic could have been working on this since before Apex Legends' launch, of course, but the timing the feature making its way to Fortnite just weeks after Apex's release would be a remarkable coincidence. The company was also seen as reacting to the success of Apex when it decided to offer the Season 8 Battle Pass for free to anyone who completed enough Overtime challenges in recent weeks.
